How do I check out books at UCR library?
You can check out materials at circulation/reserves desks with your valid library card. Loan periods vary by item and by card holder status, so be sure to check your borrowing privileges. You are responsible for all items checked out on your card and should not loan borrowed materials to any other person.
Can you eat at the UCR Library?
Alert library staff to any spills or messes so that the area can be cleaned promptly. Food and open drink containers are not permitted within the John C. Hitt 5th Floor Quiet Study area. Food and drink are not permitted while using Special Collections & University Archives materials.
Can UCR alumni use the library?
Students and Alumni (UCR and beyond) Graduate students on university-approved leave or paid filing fee status retain full privileges. You may use your UCR card or obtain a UCR Library Card from circulation desks.
Can the public use UCF library?

What is the best library to study at UCR?
Start your review of UCR Orbach Science Library. This is the best library to study at on the UCR hands down. Rivera library can’t hold its own against this place. I would recommend trying the third floor first for study spaces because it’s quiet and nobody likes climbing stairs so there’s usually some space.

The Raymond L. Orbach Science Library supports the life and physical sciences, including engineering, agriculture, and medicine. The Orbach Science Library provides access to a variety of comfortable seating, group study rooms, computer workstations and reservable laptops.
What is it like to go to the library?
The library staff are super nice and they will help you with your research and help you find a certain book you need. You are allowed to eat, as long it isn’t too smelly. The third floor is reserved for being the SILENCE floor. And the other floors you can talk all you want.
