When should you send your transcript to colleges?
If you’re admitted for the fall term, you must have final, official transcripts (high school and/or college) sent to the admissions office. These transcripts must be postmarked or electronically submitted on or before July 1. All other documents and exam scores must be submitted by July 15.

How long does need my transcript take?
If the school accepts electronic transcripts, it may take 24 to 48 hours. If a hard copy is required, it can take a few days to be received. If the schools are on each coast, it could take over a week. Students should also consider how long it may take your program to confirm receipt of your transcript.

Official paper transcripts are sent in a sealed, signature-stamped envelope. An electronic transcript is considered OFFICIAL if the intended party is the direct email recipient. If emailed to the requestor, then forwarded, it is then considered UNOFFICIAL.

If the school is closed, we suggest contacting the local school district or the County Office of Education for assistance. A Mid-Year Report is a form submitted by your school counselor indicating your academic progress for the first half of your senior year. Along with the Mid-Year Report, your school counselor should submit a mid-year transcript. An official record of a student’s work, showing courses taken and grades achieved.

We define a final official transcript as a transcript received directly from the issuing institution (whether on paper and still in the envelope or a certified electronic copy) that is properly signed/authenticated.
How do I know if Sac State received my transcripts?
Grades and unofficial transcripts can be viewed on the Student Center at My Sac State. Copies of grade reports may be requested through our office at (916) 278-6984.
Can I send my transcript after my application?
Test scores, letters of recommendation and transcripts can arrive shortly after the application deadline, but your application will not be reviewed until it is complete. Your school can mail your official transcripts or have them submitted electronically.
Do I have to submit all my transcripts?
Regardless of how well or how poorly you’ve performed at your current school, you must send official transcripts for all courses you’ve completed at all schools you’ve attended since high school, even if credits from a previous institution appear as transfer credits on your current school’s transcript.
